SASY Program (5+)

 

Can’t wait to turn 8 to try Scuba? No problem! Central Coast offers kids as young as 5 years old their 1st breath on scuba with the Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youth (SASY).

In the SASY program, kids 5-8yrs old wear a “BCD” and scuba equipment just like the older kids, but they stay on the surface, and experience breathing from a regulator while floating and without going underwater.

The BCD is like a life preserver, and it holds a real scuba tank with a functioning regulator and air gauge. However, the BCD is not weighted, so the child remains positively buoyant at the surface of the pool.  Kids wear a mask and fins just like the older kids, and they can practice “scuba” on the surface.

How Long Does It Take?

  • The SASY Experience takes a couple hours – it can be done in one fun, exciting afternoon!

The Learning Materials Your Child Needs

  • Just your child’s willingness and undivided attention!

  • To enroll in SASY, you must be at least 5 years old.
